AP Ticket Issue: Nani finally gets support
By: Tupaki Desk | 23 Dec 2021 12:17 PM GMTEarlier today, Nani spoke about the ticket prices restriction that is being imposed by the government of Andhra Pradesh. ""What is happening in Andhra Pradesh is not right. It is unfair to suppress the industry which provides livelihood to so many people in such a way. It doesn't make any sense in the first place. A theatre management which provides livelihood to many people is making less money than a grocery store or a pan shop beside their premises. This is a dire situation and it doesn't make any sense. How can this be an economically feasible modus operandi?," Nani said while speaking at a promotional event today.
Now, Nani has received some sort of support from Tollywood as the likes of Shobu Yarlagadda (Baahubali producer), Deva Katta, and Sundeep Kishan have shared tweets in support of Nani. While Shobu was direct with his approach, Deva Katta and Sundeep Kishan shared cryptic posts, aimed at the government of Andhra Pradesh and its implications.
"I completely agree with @NameisNani ! Ticket pricing issue in AP can severely damage the exhibition sector in AP with long-term implications for the Telugu film industry.
Many theatres might not survive this. Many people dependent on this industry will also get affected. If AP Government, wants to maximize tax collection from movies, it should
1. Mandate 100% computerization of ticket sales in all theaters,
2. Automatic & real-time updating of ticket sales
3. Free & variable pricing of movie tickets (free market will decide the right price)
This will be a win-win situation, that will benefit the exhibition sector, film industry and the Government!" Shobu Yarlagadda tweeted and he was bang on point with his directive.
Sundeep Kishan tweeted "it's ok if you choose to stay silent…everybody has their reasons..but it's very very very important to be aware atleast…
Very aware of the right and wrong…
Very aware of our basic rights…
Very aware of the future we atleast hope to see…."
Deva Katta wrote "Forget movie tckts, govt fixing rates on any private ''product'' in a self-correcting, demand based market economy is absolutely undemocratic, illegal & dictatorial! Since "majority'' of us don't even understand this basic fact, let's just enjoy this ''wreck'' of a ride together!!"
