It is not just in Karnataka but entire South India is eagerly waiting for the release of 'James'. This is the last film of the late Puneeth Rajkumar who died on 29th October 2021 due to cardiac arrest. The expectations are high on this film and the makers are releasing it on 17th March as it marks the birth anniversary of late Puneeth who is lovingly called Appu by his fans.

This action entertainer is releasing in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi languages on 4000 screens. Irrespective of the language, Puneeth Rajkumar shared a good rapport with all the heroes in South India. He had a good friendship with Allu Arjun, NTR, Mega family, Prabhas and others.

Puneeth will be seen as James who is a special security officer while Priya Anand is the heroine in this flick. While there is one song and a few fights left to shoot, Puneeth passed away unexpectedly. Due to this, the makers made a few changes in the story and completed the film. While they contacted a lot of people to dub for Puneeth's character, it was finally done by his brother Shiva Rajkumar.

Stuntmaster Ravi Varma composed the action part in this action thriller. He even said that Puneeth composed most of the fights in this film. Telugu hero Srikanth played the villain in this film. Pattikonda Kishore is the producer of this film and the entire Kannada film industry unanimously decided that not one film should be released from 17th March to 22nd March. Fans are planning to turn this film into a blockbuster and pay respect to their hero. They kept an 81 feet cut-out at the Majestic theatre in Bengaluru. The tickets for the first week have been sold completely and the trailer already got 16 million views. Charan Raj is the music composer.
