For a normal eye, a film star's life looks like a paradise where they get to appear good all the time, paparazzi follow them everywhere and people who admire and respect them for their work. But all that glitters is not gold and every smile they put up on their face is not filled with happiness. The smile in front of the camera is a makeup they put on to cover their pain and darkness.

We never know what goes through their personal life and they take drastic measures like suicide as they lose the will to fight. The recent death of Sushanth Singh Rajput shines light on the dark side of this colourful industry. Not just Sushanth but a lot of artists who showed immense promise succumbed to pressure and left this planet. Take a look at the number of suicides in our film industry.

Sushanth Singh Rajput

Well known Bollywood actor Sushanth Singh Rajput recently was found dead in his house. Aged 34, Sushanth gained immense craze all over the country by playing the lead in MS Dhoni's biopic. His death shocked many people and the police is yet to find the reason behind his suicide. He became popular in 'Pavitra Rishta' serial and made his Bollywood entry with 'Kai Po Che'. He was last seen in Netflix film 'Drive'. Sushanth is one of promising young talents with a bright future ahead of him. Before entering films, Sushanth was a topper in studies and was ranked seventh in AIEEE exam. He was interested in astronomy and a talented dancer.

Preksha Mehta

Young Hindi actress Preksha Mehta too committed suicide. She hung herself at her home in Indore of Madhya Pradesh. She is popular for her roles in shows like 'Crime Patrol', 'Laal Ishq', 'Meri Durga' and others. She even acted in Akshay Kumar's 'Padman'. She decided to end her life at the age of 25. She died on 25th May 2020.

Kushal Punjabi

Another Hindi actor Kushal Punjabi to ended his life abruptly. He was the winner of popular show ‘Zor Ka Jhatka’ and gained recognition on small screen with his performances. She participated in shows like 'Fear Factor, Nautika Navigators. Jhalak Dikhlaja' and a few other shows thereby gained a lot of fans.

Ranganath

Famous Telugu writer and actor Ranganath too committed suicide. He acted as a hero, villain and a character artist in more than 300 films and entertained the audience. He even acted in a lot of serials and Ranganath is also famous in the literary world. He looked after his wife who suffered with health issues for over 15 years. After her death, Ranganath suffered due to loneliness and he decided to end it in the most unexpected way.

Vijay Sai

Telugu comedian Vijay Sai too ended his life abruptly. He was found dead in his apartment in Yusufguda of Hyderabad. He acted in films like 'Abbayilu Ammayilu', 'Bommarillu', 'Mantra', 'Allari', 'Party' and many others. With the offers getting completely dried up and mental pressure getting the better of him, Vijay Sai is said to have taken this drastic step.

Uday Kiran

This name will definitely remind you of the ever-smiling face. The young actor was a sensation back then with successive blockbusters. He entered the industry with no background and surprised everyone by gaining a lot of craze. We don't know the reason but Uday Kiran who used to have a lot of film offers suddenly was left with zero opportunities and his career dipped drastically. He tried to bounce back for ten years but he finally gave up on 5th January 2014. His death came as a shock to the entire Telugu film industry.
