The Telugu audience already had to shell out a whopping amount of money on recent theatrical releases RRR and KGF 2. The government of Telangana permitted ticket price hikes for these two films and they locked sky high prices for the same.

Now, the focus has moved on to Acharya and Sarkaru Vaari Paata which are two of Tollywood's biggest outings in the next couple of weeks.

The point to be noted here is that the Telugu audience are left disappointed with the makers of Acharya and Sarkaru Vaari Paata and there is a strong reason behind the same.

The makers of Acharya had already acquired the permission for ticket price hikes in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The ticket prices for the film in multiplexes across Telangana can cost as much as Rs 354. In single screens, the ticket prices will be Rs 210. Same pricing model might be implemented for Sarkaru Vaari Paata as well.

While these high ticket pricing models might be beneficial for the distributors, exhibitors, and everyone involved with the theatrical distribution side, the pricing model is burning a big hole in the pockets of the common audience who are hoping to watch new theatrical releases.

This price hikes can be used once in a while for a big event film or a spectacle film, but if it is used for every other film, then the audience will gradually be fed up with the way things are proceeding and might eventually even give up the idea of watching new films in theatres.

If a family has to go and watch a film in theatres, it is costing in the range of RS 1500 for a family of more and even higher for a bigger family. With such atrocious pricing model there will might be serious consequences and Tollywood might have to bear the same.
