Bandla Ganesh slammed TDP Government & Nandi Awards Jury for offering Raghupathi Venkaiah Award to Chiranjeevi. 'When they offered NTR Award for Rajinikanth & Kamal Haasan? Why not the same Award was presented for Chiranjeevi? Generally, Raghupathi Venkaiah award was presented for those who have retired. Krishnam Raju (2014) has almost stopped Acting & Eshwari (2015) retired long back. Chiranjeevi's 150th Film which released this year collected Rs 150 to 200 crore. He retained his No.1 Position making a re-entry after a gap of 9 years. Now, 'Sye Raa' is being planned with a much bigger budget and Distributors have been visiting his house daily for the rights. For such a Hero, They offered Raghupathi Venkaiah Award,' he commented.
According the Bandla Ganesh, The intention of TDP Government & Nandi Awards Jury behind offering Raghupathi Venkaiah Award to Chiranjeevi is to convey that better if he retires from Acting. 'What kind of Award should be given for Chiru? Has he ever asked for any such Award?,' he questioned.
Whereas, TDP Leader Gadde Rammohan Rao compared Raghupathi Venkaiah Award with Dada Saheb Phalke Award. He opined it's unfair to treat such an award as a retirement thing.
