Jail Term? Will fight Legally: Bandla Ganesh
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Nov 2017 1:01 PM GMTThe other day, Bandla Ganesh was sentenced to six months in jail and ordered to pay a fine of Rs 15.86 lakh by the 14th Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Erramanzil in connection with a cheque bounce case. A conditional bail was offered to the Producer on a surety of Rs 10,000, providing an opportunity to appeal in the higher court.
Bandla Ganesh revealed untold facts about the whole issue: 'I had bought the story of Temper from Vakkantham Vamsi for a price of Rs 1.04 crore in 2015. After the film became a super hit, Hindi remake rights were sold out to Bollywood filmmaker Rohit Shetty. Without my knowledge, Vakkantham Vamsi offered the rights over the same story for a publisher i.e BLOOMSBURY Publishing India Pvt Ltd violating the agreement. An English novel by name 'Temper' has been published. I took this matter to the Film Chamber & stopped paying the balance amount to the Writer. Though the complaint was still pending in the Film Chamber, Vamsi moved the court using the bounced cheque. A conditional bail has been obtained by Me from the court. I am planning to approach a higher court to continue legal fight against Vamsi'.
Making an indirect reference to Director Puri Jagannath, Bandla Ganesh said every member of 'Temper' Unit including Vakkantham Vamsi knew who is the power behind the wonderful dialogues in the movie. 'Being a Producer who paid crores as remuneration to Actors, Directors & Technicians in the Industry, Am I not in a position to pay Rs 9 lakh. My Fans & Wellwishers need to understand the actual facts behind the court verdict,' he said.
