The hype about Mahanati movie was not that high before the release. As Allu Arjun's Naa Peru Surya movie was releasing on May 5th and Mahanati is gearing up to hit the screens on May 9th, everyone thought that the theatres will be less for this biopic. But everything has changed after the first show of the movie.
The demand for Mahanati movie increases rapidly and by the weekend the screens count increased greatly. As Mahanati movie is creating sensations at the box office, none of the filmmakers dared to release their films in that week. But last week Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja released his Nela Ticket movie. Also, Naga Shourya's family entertainer Ammammagarillu also hit the screens. The audience expected that the pace of Mahanati will reduce now. But nothing like that happened.
Ravi Tej's Nela Ticket got the disaster talk after the first day and the audience failed to connect well with the overdose sentiment in Ammammagarillu movie. So, both the movies failed to get good openings and Mahanati became the only option for the movie lovers in the summer ending. We can say that Mahanati movie successfully ran in the theatres for the entire May month.
