'Bichagadu' was sensational at the Telugu Box Office. Who would have anticipated a film who's dubbing rights were purchased for Rs 50 lakh would collected close to Rs 25 crore? Vijay Antony has created a market for his movies in Telugu States with this Blockbuster. He now tries to cash in on that success with 'Bethaludu' which is a dubbed version of his Tamil project 'Saithan'. It's been released Today in over 500 screens in AP & T. Is 'Bethaludu' as good as 'Bichagadu'?

Synopsis:

Dinesh (Vijay Antony), a software professional, is a smart and intelligent guy. Upon receiving a proposal from Aishwarya (Arundhati Nair) through a Matrimonial Site, Dinesh gets married to her. Just when it appears that the sailing was smooth post marriage, He starts hearing some weird voices and receives instructions from his brain to end his life. After consulting a psychiatrist, He comes to know that the problem is related to his previous life. What has Dinesh done to overcome this complicated issue? Do watch 'Bethaludu' to know more..!

Performances:

No one except Vijay Antony would have suited the lead role in 'Bethaludu'. He deserves praise for playing the protagonist and producing the project. Vijay Antony has played the character with multiple shades so well. Audience could only see Dinesh when he appears on the screen.

Arundhathi Nair does a fine job. Though she is ordinary glamour-wise, This Bangalore Beauty scores brownie points with her expressive face.

YG Mahendra, Charu Haasan and Aadukalam Murugadoss did complete justice to their roles.

Pros:

Story

Vijay Antony

First Half

Cons:

Narration

Direction

Technicalities:

Except for the Romantic Track, None of the songs composed by Vijay Antony were pleasing. But, Background Score provided by him is laudable. Cinematography by Pradeep is a major asset. Production Values are adequate. Subject chosen by Director Pradeep Krishnamoorthy is very interesting. Ample twists n turns give a feeling that a lot of exercise has been done on the script. However, The narration wasn't good enough and that's where 'Bethaludu' falters.

Analysis:

Vijay Antony is known for his unconventional subjects. Even 'Bethaludu' falls is the same slot. This Story have all the elements to keep the audience on the edge of their seats till the very end. However, Director Pradeep Krishnamoorthy failed to engage the viewers with his narration.

Although the Run Time of 'Bethaludu' is just two hours, People get a feeling of watching a lengthy movie because of the lackluster presentation. Suspense Element & Twists are good enough but the sluggish pace plays the spoilsport.

In 'Bethaludu', Protagonist faces a psychological problem. The film opens directly with this point without any unnecessary Introductions. First Half of the movie is largely good. But, Watching the scenes where Hero hears weird sounds and the background score provided for these portions gives a panic feeling to the viewer. Even Flashback episode is confusing and ineffective. In the Second Half, 'Bethaludu' shifts into scientific zone from what was supposed to be fantasy. A cinematic conclusion is being given to the story in the end but it's unconvincing.

Overall, 'Bethaludu' is a very different attempt and such kind of unconventional subjects are rare in Indian Cinema. While the First Half arouses curiosity, Second Half is a let down. You can give it a try if you're keen to experience something new!

Bottom Line: Panic Situation!
