Big Movies - Big Losses!

In recent days, the big movies are getting huge openings but they are not getting the desired profits at the end. This is proving to be a huge worry for the producers. The film industry has only 30% of success rate and this explains the level of losses the buyers and producers are enduring. Especially, the big films are ending up in huge losses if the output doesn't impress the audience.

The producers are becoming safe to an extent by selling the rights but the losses are becoming inevitable lately. Recently, 'Adipurush' was bought by People Media Factory and they faced a huge setback because of it. They spent around 120 crores to buy the theatrical rights while the share is not even 80 crores till now. The movie may end up with another 10 crores at maximum which implies that 'Adipurush' will result in at least 30-35 crores loss for the distributors. Not just this film but a lot of films are proving to be nightmares for buyers and exhibitors.

Warangal Sreenu bought 'Liger' and we all know what happened next. The movie ended up with a huge loss of around 40-50 crores. It even damaged the brand value of Puri Jagannadh as well. It took a lot of time for Puri Connects to stand on its own and we have seen a lot of distributors protesting in front of his office.

Akhil's 'Agent' too met with the same fate. AK Entertainments made this film on a grand budget and B4U company distributed majorly. The team spent a lot of time in the making and spent heavily on it. The producer tried to sell the movie for huge rates to become safe before the release. It did not prove to be successful in some areas. Due to this, the B4U company endured heavy losses.

The movie faced around 35 crores in loss and producer Anil did everything he could to calm down the distributors. He trying to compensate them with 'Bholaa Shankar'. While many say that the higher the risk, the higher the reward but the loss is too heavy in case things go south.
