More Tensions For The Film Industry!
By: Tupaki Desk | 18 May 2020 2:50 PM GMTMany people from the film industry thought that the lockdown will be prolonged but they thought that there will be a few exceptions made. But the government did not give any free hand for the film industry as they feel it is not safe to open public gathering spots like malls, shootings, and theatres.
Also, the film industry is the least priority for the government. Despite this industry being branded as an entertainment industry, it involves thousands of daily workers which everyone seems to forget. The central government gave the responsibilities to state governments and they are in no mood to give permissions.
There is no hope until 31st May. If the cases get reduced by then, there may be a chance of giving permissions to the film industry but the result is opposite, there is no chance of theatres getting opened in the next few months. Filmmakers who thought that they could restart their work from now on and disappointed by the government's decision. The cinematography minister clarified indirectly that the theatres may not open for the next 2-3 months.
Now, the filmmakers are looking for other options like OTT platforms and even big films are showing interest in it. Things are getting heating up in the industry as the fear is starting to grip the people. Hope they get some help before things go out of hand.
