Big Targets For 'Avengers: End Game'

Touted to be the sequel of 'Avengers: Infinity War', the much-awaited movie 'Avengers: Endgame' has finally made it into the theatres on April 26th and earned $63.11 million on Friday in China.
'Avengers Endgame' succeeded in making the biggest non-Chinese New Year Friday gross ever and surprised the trade as well. Apart from the decent five-day opening for Avengers, the movie is likely to make $315 million whereas the lifetime total of 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' is $320 million in 2014. Last year, the lifetime totals of 'Avengers: Infinity War' is $359 million. However, this MCU epic also has some biggies before it which are 'The Mermaid' with $526 million in 2016, 'Detective Chinatown 2' with $544 million in 2018, 'Operation Red Sea' with $579 million in 2018, etc. If 'Avengers: End Game' succeeded in breaking all those records as well, it will pose a threat to 'The Wandering Earth' which made $699 million in 2019 and 'Wolf Warrior 2' with $854 million.
A $445 million overseas launch and a $325 million Chinese launch is also expected to give 'Avengers: Endgame' a $1.07 billion global debut weekend. Then the film follows the $2.1 billion lifetimes gross of 'Titanic' to become the second-biggest movie of all time.
