Young filmmaker Vassishta Mallidi made a dream debut with Kalyan Ram's 'Bimbisara'. This fantasy drama turned out to be a big hit and ended up in a lot of profits. People did not expect much from this movie and they were treated with a strong story, interesting screenplay and terrific visuals that too on a limited budget.

With Kalyan Ram himself announcing that 'Bimbisara 2' will be made soon, expectations were raised heavily. The director recently spilled a few beans regarding 'Bimbisara 2' and they are quite interesting. Talking about the project, he said, "Nandamuri Kalyan Ram has to finish his other projects before we can schedule shooting for 'Bimbisara 2'. I have a lot of pressure because I have to meet audience expectations. For part 1, they didn't expect anything as they went to the theatres, saw a fantasy film and it clicked. Everything about the film was a surprise for them. Now they are prepared to know what we are giving in part 2. More expectations and more pressure for me too as I have to give them something new. It will have a connection to part one for sure."

Kalyan Ram is currently working an untitled project directed by Rajendar Reddy and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. For his 21st film, he joined hands with talented director Naveen Medaram under the production of Abhishek Nama's 'Abhishek Pictures'. The movie is named 'Devil' and Kalyan Ram will be seen as a British Secret Agent in this movie. Srikanth Vissa who worked on 'Pushpa' has penned the story of 'Devil' and Harshavardhan Rameshwar gave a solid background score. The makers have made this movie on a grand scale and it will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Kannada languages.
