BJP to return in Rajasthan, retain MP, Chhattisgarh: CNN-IBN survey

The survey said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was set to make a comeback in Rajasthan by winning 126-136 seats in the 200-member assembly. It predicts 49-57 seats for the Congress in the state.
The BJP had won 78 seats in the state in the 2008 elections and the Congress had won 96.
The survey predicted a vote gain of nine percent for the BJP and four percent drop for the Congress.
"Fifty percent respondents say ruling (Ashok) Gehlot government does not deserve another chance in Rajasthan. Forty-nine percent respondents say they prefer Vasundhra Raje as Rajasthan chief minsiter, only 27 percent prefer Gehlot," a press release said.
For Chhattisgarh, the survey predicted the BJP winning 45-55 seats in the 90-member assembly.
It said the Congress would win 32-40 seats while other parties were likely to get 1-7 seats.
The BJP had won 50 seats in 2008 polls in Chhattisgarh and the Congress had won 38.
In terms of vote share, the BJP is expected to get 42 percent votes compared to 38 percent of the Congress.
"A massive 81 percent respondents say they were satisfied with the BJP government in Chhattisgarh," according to the press release.
The survey said that incumbent Raman Singh was the preferred choice for 46 percent respondents while Congress leader Ajit Jogi was preferred choice of 21 percent.
For Madhya Pradesh, the survey predicted the BJP winning 136-146 seats while the Congress was seen as winning 67-77 seats.
The BJP had won 143 seats in 2008 elections compared to 71 of the Congress.
The survey said that the BJP may get 41 percent vote share compared to 35 percent of the Congress.
"Seventy-two percent respondents say they are satisfied with the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh while 74 percent respondents say they are satisfied with Shivraj Singh Chouhan as chief minister," the release said.
It said 45 percent of respondents backed Chouhan as the chief minister and 25 percent backed the Congress' Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The release said surveys were conducted in the three states after polling. Sample size was 1,629 across 25 seats in Chhattisgarh, 2,829 across 35 seats in Madhya Pradesh and 2,976 in 50 seats of Rajasthan.
Results of three states along with Delhi will be declared Dec 8. Results of Mizoram will be declared Dec 9.
If the BJP wins Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, it will be the party's third successive win in the two states.
