Bollywood Actress To Join Shiv Sena Party

Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar, who quit Congress party last year, is all set to start her new political journey from Shiv Sena party. She will be joining the party on Tuesday.
Shiv Sena leader and chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut said Matondkar will formally join Sena on December 1. Her formal entry is expected to take place at Matoshree in the presence of Thackeray and his son and minister Aaditya.
Urmila had contested from the North Mumbai seat on behalf of the Congress in the 2019 parliamentary elections and lost to the BJP candidate. Urmila, who joined the Congress in March 2019, resigned from the party's primary membership in September of the same year. Since then, she has been away from politics.
As per reports, Matondkar's name has been forwarded to governor B S Koshyari by the Shiv Sena for nomination to the Legislative Council from the governor's quota.
