'Padman' starring Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor is based on the real-life story of Arunachalam Muruganatham who created affordable sanitary pads. The film was directed by R Balki of 'Cheeni Kum' fame and produced by Twinkle Khanna.
Bollywood Leading Celebrities have been voluntarily campaigning for 'Padman' to create awareness about the need for hygiene. Sonam Kapoor urged her fans to contribute Rs 400 each from their pockets to the good cause.
On the other hand, Alia Bhatt was seen posing with a sanitary pad while undergoing pilates training in gym as part of the padman challenge. Even Aditi Rao Hydari didn't mind posing with a sanitary pad.
A Couple of days ago, None other than Aamir Khan accepted the Padman challenge. Hopefully, 'Padman' changes the perception of people about sanitary pads.
