Bollywood Stars To Act In More Telugu Movies?

Generally, Hindi Cinema has 29 states to cater and more than 8,000 screens in India and worldwide host them. Wider the reach, more the number of fans and more the hype, collections, pressure.
It is not easy to make a movie that will collect decent amounts from every State in India and then have a worldwide appeal too. Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Raj Kapoor, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna have been well-known actors not just in India but in foreign countries too. Aamir Khan has good market in China as his Dangal, Secret Superstar kind of movies crossed 100 Million USD collections over there.
But the story has been different in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam Cinemas. The stars have become superstars and budgets have increased over the years due to the emergence of filmmakers who can cater to wider audiences and deliver big hits.
Sholay was considered as the biggest blockbuster India has ever produced as it became a blockbuster in every area it released. Now, Baahubali 2 is the biggest Hit ever produced in India.
In 1950's, when regional cinema in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada saw rise of studios like AVM, Gemini, Prasad Arts, Vijay Productions, Vijaya-Vahini Productions, Vahini Studios, filmmakers like LV Prasad, and actors like ANR, NTR, SVR, Savitri, Anjali Devi, MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, Prem Nazir started becoming stars, they used to follow trends set by Hindi actors and stories filmed in Hindi used to be remade more often.
AVM, Gemini started producing in various languages and started filmmaking in Hindi. This transformed the Indian Cinema picture altogether. Filmmakers like AC Trilokchander, Bhim Singh from Tamil Cinema entered Hindi Cinema as well. LV Prasad who learnt craft in Mumbai mostly preferred to make movies in Telugu, Tamil but he too slowly shifted focus to Hindi Cinema.
From 1960's, Suvarna sundari and many other movies, stories from Tamil, Telugu Cinema started getting dubbed, remade in Hindi as well. Filmmakers from Malayalam, Kannada Cinema started looking at Hindi Cinema for wider reach. But box office expertise of Telugu, Tamil filmmakers attracted more Mumbai producers along with Telugu, Tamil producers who are looking to produce in Hindi.
Suresh Productions, Padmalaya Studios started producing, remaking films from Telugu, Tamil in Hindi. Major amount of Telugu hits got remade in Hindi. Bapayya, a well-known Telugu director in 1970's became busy Hindi director in 1980's and he used to remake Telugu Superhits.
K Raghavendra Rao, Dasari Narayana Rao, Bapu also made Hindi films but they remade most of their Telugu films rather than making different and original films. Still, North Indian producers preferred the same and Jitendra became a star based on these remakes, majorly.
From 1990's emergence of makers like Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar tilted the balance from heavy dependence on South Indian filmmakers to original filmmakers in Hindi. They brought back glory days to Hindi Cinema when Basu Chatterjee, Subhash Ghai, Shakti Samantha, Prakash Mehra, Manmohan Desai and Yash Chopra used to rule the roost with their respective brand of cinema.
Hindi Cinema became global with the rise of stars like SRK, Salman and Aamir. Themes changed and South Indian commercial potboiler formula cinemas vanished from Hindi Cinema. Except for Ram Gopal Varma, no one from 90's South Film Industry could succesful translate their cinema to Hindi language as the audience state changed to global cinema.
The generation of viewers changed today and the commercial cinema from South also became globally acceptable. Majorly, Hindi filmmakers decided to adapt stories from regional films in Hindi and that became a guarantee success formula for ageing stars like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar. They started depending on action films more these days.
Well, these Hindi stars started to star in regional cinemas too. 2.0 saw Akshay acting in Tamil for the first time and Salman agreed to star in Godfather remake of Lucifier by Megastar Chiranjeevi. Soon, we will see Atlee Kumar debuting with SRK film in Hindi too.
This change is due to Baahubali and emergence of Pan Indian cinema. Now, South and North producers are planning to unite, collaborate and increase returns from their films. With Hindi stars, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada stars coming to share screen in same film, people will get films with higher budgets and different combinations, stories. Hopefully, the trend becomes successful and erase the gap between regional, Hindi Cinema in India like in Hollywood, China.
