Young hero Akhil Akkineni surprised everyone by announcing that his stylish spy action thriller 'Agent' will be hitting the big screens during the Sankranti season of 2023. While it is no doubt that this film is arriving with a lot of high expectations, the amount of big films that have already booked the slots for Sankranti is quite concerning.
Akhil is a hero who scored his first hit last year after three successive failures. He needs 'Agent' to become a big hit in order to establish himself as a solid star hero in the making. Also, it will be released on a pan-Indian level which means it will be a debut for Akhil in other languages. Usually, the team will be very careful regarding the release date and select a free date that is devoid of any kind of competition.
But Akhil is diving right into a war zone where senior heroes like Balayya and Chiranjeevi are gearing up to lock horns through their movies like 'Veera Simha Reddy' and 'Waltair Veerayya' respectively. Thalapathy Vijay will be arriving during the same season with 'Varasudu' and we all know the 'Bigil' hero's craze in South India. Above all that, Prabhas' pan-Indian mythological movie 'Adipurush' is landing on 12th January across the nation. With four big movies already ready to compete with each other, many are claiming that it is not a wise move for Akhil to release his 'Agent' during the Sankranti season. We need to wait and see what the youngster and his movie team do now.
