Can July-August Releases Bring In Profits?
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 July 2018 4:34 PM GMTIn Telugu Film Industry, there are few seasons, when the box office flourishes and few others when it feels like nobody can save it.
The lucrative periods are Sankranthi, Summer, Monsoon (July -August), Dussehra and recently, Christmas.
This year Sankranthi was lukewarm but Summer doubled it with Rangasthalam, Bharat Ane Nenu and Mahanati. Still there have been many flops from popular heroes that hurt Industry.
Now, Monsoon season is at its peak in both states and this is the time, when people are more inclined to be easy going as the examination season starts during September, ends with Dusshera and the seriousness continues till Christmas. After that from Feb end till beginning of April, again examination fear catches up.
Normally, for films from July end week to August last day, we can say that collections will be good if your film provides minimum entertainment. Fidaa and Arjun Reddy, films phenomenal run and success can be taken as best examples.
This year, we have Sakshyam, Lover, Srinivasa Kalyanam, Shailaja Reddy Alludu or Savyasachi, Goodachari to release in this period.
Sakshyam has high budget and great expectations of producers and actors, Bellamkonda Srinivas, Pooja Hegde hanging on it. Movie is a fiction with heavy VFX work as the major advantage. Movie is scheduled for 20th July release.
Lover is a breezy romantic film of Raj Tharun with debut director, Annish Krishna. It is also releasing for 20th July.
Coming to August releases, we are still not sure if Savyasachi or Shailaja Reddy Alludu release in the month but both will be ready by first week of August. Naga Chaitanya is the main lead of both the movies.
Nithiin's Srinivasa Kalyanam in the direction of Shatamanam Bhavathi fame, Satish Vegnesna has good expectations and it is scheduled for second week release in August.
After Kshanam, Adivi Sesh has become an actor and writer to look out for. We have to wait for his high budget ambitious Goodachari, to know what he has been upto in these two years. Movie will release in August.
Along with these many medium and small budget movies are planning there release in next 45 days. We have to wait and see, how many of them will make this Monsoon, a money raining season at box office.
