Can Maharshi Put Up New Records?
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 May 2019 8:15 AM GMTMaharshi is one of the few most awaited films of 2019. It might not have anticipation of Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa and humungous expectations like Prabhas's Saaho but fans of Mahesh are taking it as their pride.
Mahesh Babu vs Pawan Kalyan has been the story of Telugu Film Box office from 2005-06 season to 2017-18. As Pawan Kalyan is looking more at politics and Prabhas scored massive hits with Baahubali, Mahesh has to strike hard as well.
Jr. NTR, Ram Charan are closing the gap, in fact Ram Charan has the Non-Baahubali biggest grosser, Rangasthalam to his name now and Mahesh Babu's last biggies haven't been able to cross 100 crores share mark.
After Srimanthudu success, many thought he will go for even bigger films but the actor made glaring mistakes like Brahmostavam and Spyder which lost upto 50 crores each at the box office.
Even his successful film, Bharat Ane Nenu couldn't cross the 100 crores share mark while Rangasthalam broke 125 crores mark. Well, both films fought in the same Summer season and in USA they were neck and neck but in Telugu states, both had a difference of 30 crores.
Now, Maharshi has a weak audio but strong trailers. The talk of the town before release is not bad and not great too. Once again a Mahesh movie is expected to cross 100 crores mark and for breaking even it needs that amount.
So, distributors and producers are hoping that movie gets better talk than Bharat Ane Nenu and are hoping young Mahesh episodes, which are said to have come out better than any other to give fans the reason to watch the film, repeatedly.
