Can Mani Ratnam Do A 1000 Crores Film?

This is the question haunting many in TFI circles as well, as the reports suggest that the director wants to make Ponniyan Selvan based movie next.
He wants to cast Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Mohan Babu, Keerthy Suresh, Jayam Ravi, Karthi and Chiyaan Vikram in the film, it seems.
We can expect even more bigger names to join the cast as the director's vision is huge. He wants to make the movie on a budget of 1000 crores, it seems.
He feels the script and his vision will only be realised when he can get such a budget it seems. But can he find a producer willing?
His movies haven't been such big hits and giving him 1000 crores could be seen as a major risk, unless he takes Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, Suriya, Ajith, Vijay, SRK, Mohan Lal, Salman Khan, Ram Charan, Prabhas, Mahesh, Jr. NTR kind of stars from different languages for his film.
As a director, he has a huge name in Indian Cinema and if all these stars get at least one scene to shine like in Avengers: EndGame, he might have a chance to get such big budget in this market.
Even though Baahubali opened the debate for big budget films, 2.0 and many others showed that the risk is too high in such big budget films. May be only such unique casting can make the movie a safe bet and as a director, if he puts his heart in it, he can handle all of them too!
