Vishakapatnam is a perfect destination for film shootings not just now but in the olden days too. Vizag is the first place we think of when you hear the word outdoor shootings.
Akkineni Nageswar Rao shot some parts of 'Kula Gotralu' at that time in Vizag and director Bala Chandar took it to another level by filming 'Maro Charitra' entirely in the beach city.
A lot of legendary directors like Viswanath and Dasari Narayan Rao shot a lot of their films in Vizag. It was the go to spot for many big directors like Raghavendar Rao and Bharati Raja. Many bigwigs wanted to turn into the capital of film industry and it has been a dream from a long time which never turned into reality. Now, CM Jagan is focusing especially on Vizag and turned it into one of the capitals.
He wants to develop Vizag and is trying to give lands to film producers to increase the film activities there. So, the film industry needs to shoot there and even build some studios there. Minister Perni Nani said that they are willing to give lands to build houses too if the film industry people decide to live there. So, the government is giving a helping hand to the film industry and it is up to the film producers and directors to make the full use of it.
