Can This Weekend Movies Attract Audiences?

Telugu Film Industry has seen a profitable Sankranthi and Summer seasons last two years. In 2017, Baahubali-2, in 2018 - Rangasthalam, Mahanati, Bharat Ane Nenu had such good run that big films stopped scaring producers.

But 2019 Sankranthi became nightmare for many with two big movies galloping losses mounting to 85 crores and even though F2, collected close to similar amount of share, it is not enough for them to recover such big losses.

The rest of the year till date has also been a witch hunt for hit. Mr. Majnu showed that Akhil still needs a very positive script and Yatra couldn't attract audiences as it had some political ambitions.

Valentines Day weekend just turned out be a sorry marriage that is forced by some goons in TFI theatres with two dubbed films, Dev and Lovers Day.

TFI needs a hit but NTR Mahanayakudu and Mithai, doesn't have good buzz or astonishing positive factors to fall back on. NTR Kathanayakudu missed the mark by country mile and it made Mahanayakudu, a tough sell.

Mithai needs young audiences to turn up at theatres in large numbers. That won't be the case as the exam sledgehammer is hanging around their necks.

Others like Anjali CBI, 4 Letters aren't even in consideration for a viewing by public unless they are said to be world-class masterpieces. On the whole, this weekend seems to pile up on the demand for lower budgets and better content from distributors to producers!
