Can Vamsi Paidipally Deliver With This Much-Hyped Bilingual?

Director Vamsi Paidipally has a very good track record. Barring his debut film 'Munna' which was a commercial failure, all his next outings turn into hits like 'Brindavanam', 'Yevadu', 'Oopiri' and 'Maharshi' turned out to be successful. Despite working with stars like NTR, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Ram Charan and Nagarjuna, Vamsi was never considered a top-tier director.
He takes a lot of time for each film and many claim that he does not have a signature style in making films like other top directors. There is a complaint that some of Vamsi Paidipally's films give a Deja Vu feeling.
Keeping all this aside, he took a gap of three years after 'Maharshi' and announced his next project with Thalapathy Vijay. Produced by Dil Raju, it is going to be a bilingual project. Vijay has a stupendous craze in Tamil Nadu and is enjoying the No. 1 spot in Kollywood right now. No matter how the film is, it is becoming successful at the box office due to his unparalleled craze.
To strengthen his market in Telugu, Vijay agreed to this bilingual and it has been launched grandly on Wednesday. The pooja ceremony was attended by most of the film's crew including heroine Rashmika Mandanna and music composer Thaman. It was held in Chennai and the regular shooting of #Thalapathy66 is expected to start by the end of this month.
This is a huge litmus test of Vamsi Paidipally's caliber and we need to see if he delivers big time and make himself a star director or not.
