How Amala Paul evaded Rs 20 lakh Tax?

Vehicle registrations by Film Celebs in Kerala has come under the scanner now. It came to the notice of Transport Department and Tax Officials that people have been registering their vehicles with fake addresses in Puducherry to evade tax.
Amala Paul purchased S Class Mercedes Benz worth Rs 1.12 crore in Kerala and she was supposed to a pay a tax of Rs 20 lakh for its registration. To evade tax, The Actress registered her luxury car at Puducherry. She, however, have no connection what-so-ever with the address on which the vehicle is being registered. Residential Address of Amala Paul fall within the Ernakulam RTO limits. The Motor Vehicle Department served notice to Amala Paul for alleged evasion of Rs 20 lakh tax.
Puducherry Governor Kiran Bedi responded seriously over the registrations of vehicles under fake addresses in Puducherry. She directed Transport Commissioner to register a fraud case against Amala Paul as the address given for the car registration is that of her relative.
Kiran Bedi passed the order that only permanent citizens of Puducherry who fall under the five RTOs can register their vehicles from now. Officials were directed to verify the addresses before registration.
