Legendary actor Kamal Hassan has received Padma Bhushan award from the President of India Pranab Mukherjee today in a ceremony that was held in Rashtrapathi Bhavan.
While expressing his joy on getting the award Kamal Haasan had said, the award would be an impetus to do more good work.
“Proud to be an Indian. India is a country with great talents in various many fields. I am honoured that I have been chosen for Padma Bhushan by my government. This award made me more responsible and i will remember as a special moment in my life”, he had said.
Kamal Haasan’s daughter and actress is a proud daughter as she tweeted, “I’m such a proud daughter today!!! Congratulations bapuji!”
Kamal Haasan and former badminton player Pullela Gopichand were among the 12 who received the Padma Bhushan awards.A total of 53 Padma Shri awards were also presented by the president and the awardees included actor Vidya Balan for her roles in Dirty Picture and Kahaani.
