After six months shut down of cinemas, the central government recently gave a nod to reopen the cinemas and multiplexes across the country.

The Centre on Tuesday issued guidelines regarding the operations at theatres that are set to reopen from October 15.

According to the new guidelines, cinema halls are permitted to operate with 50% occupancy to maintain physical distance between people. Seats not to be occupied have to be marked for the purpose.

Show timings will also be staggered and enough number of box office counters shall be opened to avoid overcrowding. Govt has also advised the public to avoid movement during the intermission.

People are advised to install and use the Aarogya Setu app. Hand wash and hand sanitisers will be made accessible at the theatres and people will be thermally screened before entering, only those who are asymptomatic will be allowed inside.
