It's barely been a couple of days since the sudden demise of the legendary actor Kaikala Satyanarayana. The Tollywood industry is still mourning his demise. Now the industry suffered another sad news as the veteran actor Tammareddy Chalapathi Rao(79) left us. He had an illustrious career that lasted for a few decades. His demise is a big loss for the Tollywood film industry.

The actor passed away during the early hours of Sunday. It is said that cardiac arrest is the reason behind the demise of the actor. His body was taken to his son actor-director Ravi Babu’s house located in the MLA colony. It will be shifted to the Maha Prasthanam and the body will be stored in a freezer.

His daughter stays in America and she is expected to come to Hyderabad for the last rites of Tammareddy Chalapathi Rao. His last rites are expected to be held on Wednesday at the Maha Prasthanam.

Chalapathi Rao was born on 8th May 1944 in Balliparru, Krishna district in the combined Andhra Pradesh. He started his career as an assistant director and actor. After doing a bunch of character roles he started doing villain roles.

The legendary actor acted in more than 1200 films and worked with three generations of actors. No matter what roles he plays, Chalapathi Rao leaves a strong impression as an actor.

Getting a chance to work with legendary actors like ANR, ANR, SVR, and others shined his acting skills, and there is no looking back. He has a close association with Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and he used to have roles in almost every film NTR does.

But his career took a big turn with King Nagarjuna’s Ninne Pelladata. He played Nagarjuna’s father in the film and after the film was released he became one of the busy actors in Tollywood.

Chalapathi Rao also had the opportunity to be a part of the current phenomenon of OTT. He acted in a web series and got a good role. The legendary actor who started his career with films also got to foray into the OTT arena.
