Distributor seeks stay on Baahubali 2 Release
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 April 2017 7:25 AM GMTA petition has been moved in Madras High Court seeking stay on the release of 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' in Tamil Nadu citing the pending dues.
MS Sharavanan of Sri Green Productions obtained the theatrical rights of 'Baahubali 2' Tamil version all over Tamil Nadu. He approached Chennai-based ACE Media for a loan of Rs 1.18 crore and that amount was paid to Prabhu Deva Studio Pvt Ltd. In return, Sharavanan promised to payback Rs 1.28 crore to ACE Media before the release of 'Baahubali 2'. He, however, didn't pay the amount so far and informed ACE Media that the dues will be settled after the film's release.
ACE Media moved High Court alleging MS Sharavanan has violated the agreement dated on February 1st, 2017. It even accused him of having no intention to pay the borrowed money what-so-ever and having colluded with third parties to release the movie using their name. A stay order has been sought on the distribution, exhibition and release of 'Baahubali 2' across Tamil Nadu until dues were settled. This civil suit will be coming up for hearing on Thursday.
