Chinmayi Is Asked To Pay 1.5 Lakhs or Work As Housemaid!

Dubbing artist and renowned singer, Chinmayi Sripada used the #MeToo moment to talk about lyricist Vairamuthu and his sexual misconduct.
The voice artist has been expelled from Dubbing Union and now she is asked to pay Rs. 1.5 Lakhs to the union to reinstate her as compensation for not paying the monthly fees for registration.
She will also have to issue a public apology for her behaviour and words against President Radha Ravi and Dubbing Union, it seems.
Dubbing Union of Tamil Cinema, issued these terms in a press conference and lady voice artists also joined. They said that rather than making a living out of such baseless allegations she could have worked as housemaid in ten homes for a living.
Chinmayi Sripada tweeted about the decision of Dubbing Union and even asked some pertinent questions.
" Apparently I have to pay 1.5 Lakhs, send an apology letter and THEN the dubbing Union will reinstate me and let me work in Tamilnadu in Tamil films.
The Union has made lakhs from my Income since 2006. And I have to pay 1.5 lakhs again for my right to work.
With all due respect very big actors and directors are âLifetime Membersâ of the Dubbing Union after dubbing perhaps one film or two on a friendly basis. I have been working since 2006 and I have to become a âNew Memberâ
And I wonder why exactly I m being forced to *apologise* to the Dubbing Union and to Mr Radha Ravi?
The Dubbing Union By Law says 2,500/- is the fee to become a new member. What is this random 1.5 Lakh fee + apology?
And the greatest take away from the Dubbing Unionâ Press Meet - IF you complain of sexual harassment, quit the industry and go work as a housemaid (in precisely 10 houses)Other dubbing union female members vigorously applaud.
The Message? âStay silent, or else.â "
Well, the issue might be dragged to High Court by the singer and voice artist if they don't internally solve it!
