Chinmayi speaks about Samantha
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 Sep 2021 12:53 PM GMTChinmayi is one of the proactive cinema personalities in South Indian cinema. She often comes in support of women who are oppressed and never minces words while confronting the perpetrators. While a few may occasionally troll Chinmayi for her proactive stand, many appreciate her for standing up for women who need moral and ideological support. The noted singer and dubbing artist is a really daring woman and rightly so. She is a feminist and a proud one at it.
Now, Chinmayi has spoked out about how the 'patriarchal' society tries to restrict and often questions women who intend to work after marriage. She cited the examples of Samantha, Holywood actress, Gal Gadot, and other while validating her point.
"Pelli aina taravata oka aadadhi heroine ga act cheyakoodadhu annadhi is a toxic patriarchal mindset which stems from the belief that the man owns the woman's body, dreams, future, money, decisions and her uterus. Pelli ayyaka oka magaadu act cheyyocchu kaani aadadi act cheyakoodadhu annattuvanti yedava aalochanulaku actual honest reason ento aalochinchandi? :) Thankfully, actresses like Deepika Padukone, Samantha, Gal Gadot (she is a mother of 3!) and MANY more women have broken this massive barrier by achieving milestone after milestone. The point is this sort of a bullshit idea didnt exist in the 50s 60s when married heroines successfully continued their profession - a huge example being Mahanati Savitri. If marriage makes no difference in the career choices of a man, it shouldn't for a woman. Of course. I am the 'Feminist batch' and proud :)," Chinmayi wrote on social media."
Chinmayi has made a really good argument to prove her point right and needless to say, there is nothing wrong with women working and pursuing their dream after marriage. If anything, commendable acts like these are to be encouraged.
Samantha really is a brilliant example while speaking about this particular aspect. She continued her acting career after marriage and scored blockbusters like Rangasthalam and Oh Baby. She is showing no signs of slowing down just yet. It remains to be seen how a section of social media reacts to Chinmayi's post now.
