Its time for Chiranjeevi to experiment as well!

Well, if you observe carefully, the seniors of Telugu Cinema, are slowly turning a new leaf in their acting careers setting up the bar high for the juniors to follow them. Once, in Telugu Cinema if there were big heroes then they were Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and Balakrishna. But that has changed with the emergence of Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas and Jr. NTR in 2000's. Seniors for a decade did try their best to give run for their money to these then upcoming heroes but with the change in generation they had to accept the dominance of these young faces and resort to doing films their age.

But, actors like Nagarjuna Akkineni, paved a gracious way for his contemporaries by doing films like Manam, Oopiri and Om Namo Venkatesaya. The actor has always been known for trying different subjects and characters. But with roles like Vikramaditya who is subdued to wheelchair due to an accident and Bittu in Manam, he proved that juniors are still juniors when it comes to bringing audience to theatres even by not mouthing a huge punchline. For him characters like Rambavaji in Om Namo Venkatesaya are quite regular and in his next, he is said to be the mentalist. Working in a film directed by Ohmkar and that to in a sequel to his previous small budget film, marks for his boldness in decision making and belief on script.

Following him, even the hero who is known for doing more and more routine mass entertainers, Balakrishna too changed his route for his 100th film. He made a movie like Gautamiputra Satakarni and people loved him in the role. After these two gentlemen, Venkatesh too turned a new leaf in his acting career with the role of a coach in Guru. He is receiving lot of praises for his nuanced performance and the actor also looked completely in character devoid of his regular mannerisms after a long time.

Now, it is only Chiranjeevi who needs to show how brilliant he can be as an actor again. He did try some different roles and subjects in his early career with Rudraveena, Swayamkrushi, Aradhana and Apadhbandavudu. But after Gharana Mogudu, he stopped working in such movies making more effort to project himself as the box office hero. Well, as he proved his box office potential once again with Khaidi No.150 after a decade break, one would like to see him try some different roles as he has nothing to lose at this juncture.
