Recently, Murali Mohan underwent a surgery for finding a solution to the acute back ache he has been suffering since years. He is currently recuperating at his residence in Hyderabad.

Murali Mohan refrained from contesting in 2019 Elections due to age-related issues. He, however, fielded his Daughter-In-Law Roopa in Rajahmundry Lok Sabha Segment but she failed to defeat YCP's Margani Bharath.
