Chitralahari Is A Flop In This Territory!
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 April 2019 6:17 AM GMTSai Dharam Tej pinned all of his hopes on 'Chitralahari' after delivering six successive flops. There is no doubt that this Kishore Tirumala-directorial is far better than any of his previous six projects but the collections weren't good enough in Overseas.
'Chitralahari' managed to gross just $63K with USA Premieres. Not so positive reviews make it even more difficult to pull the crowds to the heaters in the coming days. Dream Run of 'Majili' makes the survival difficult for this Sai Dharam Tej-starrer in the USA.
Trade Circles say, 'Chitralahari' generated good shares in all the major centres in Telugu States on Day 1. Theatrical Rights were sold out for Rs 11 crore in AP & Telangana. On First Day, Around Rs 3 crore share was generated in the Telugu States.
Sai Dharam Tej used to have a market of over Rs 20 crore until recently. Series of flops hurt his reputation badly in the business circles and that brought down the pre-release business of 'Chitralahari'. This comes as a blessing in disguise as the recovery is going to be easy. Makers expect break-even within the first week itself. 'Chitralahari' should recover as much as possible before the arrival of 'Jersey' on April 19th. End of Elections & Summer Holidays might come in handy for this Mega Hero flick.
