Sundeep Kishan isn't able to deliver a successful product in Telugu after 'Venkatadri Express'. He moved to Kollywood for testing his luck and got an opportunity to work with Director Suseenthiran of 'Naa Peru Siva' fame. 'Care of Surya' is a thriller which is being made in their combination. Let's see what it is all about...

Synopsis:

Surya (Sundeep Kishan), an MBA Graduate, starts a catering service with his friends. He is so attached to one of his friends by name Mahesh. Without the knowledge of Surya, Mahesh loves his Sister. At the same time, Goons attempt to kill Mahesh. What has Surya done to save the life of his close friend forms rest of the tale!

Performances:

Sundeep Kishan does well in the boy-next-door role. His performance is so natural and he did what Director expected him to do. Mehreen Kaur plays a short role and it doesn't have much importance either. Vikranth who played Hero's Friend is aptly cast. Harish Uthaman, the antagonist, is the best performer among the entire cast. His role, get-up & acting will be remembered for a long time. Satya tickles the funny bone in few sequences. Tulasi is alright in Hero's Mother role.

Pros:

Villain's Character

Screenplay

Direction

Cons:

Songs

Slow Pace

Technicalities:

Songs composed by D Imman aren't much effective. Only the melody song of lead pair is catchy. Whereas, Background Score is impressive. Cinematography by Laxman is worth mentioning. He created a mood required for the second half so well. Production Values are good. Suseenthiran shows his mark as a Director. More than the Story, The role of Villain & his entire set-up leaves a strong impact. Taking could have been more racy.

Analysis:

Protagonists in Films directed by Suseenthiran will be middle-class guys. Projects like 'Naa Peru Siva' and 'Palnadu' are the best examples. Even in 'Care of Surya', Hero appears as a boy-next-door but he could take any risks for those who are close to him. On the other hand, The villain looks simple yet turns menacing when it matters and the kind of set up he creates for his growth is quite interesting. Though the story mayn't be so exciting, Its the narration of Suseendran that makes it hit the right chord with the audience.

The role of Main Antagonist in 'Care of Surya' is really worth a special mention. Suseendran designed this character without any unnecessary build ups yet made it a major highlight. The Villain operates a gang who kills people accepted supari. Execution of murders by the notorious gang has been showcased in a very gripping manner. Each and every sequence linked to the main villain keeps the audience engaged.

On the flip side, This Sundeep Kishan-starrer doesn't have either a good love track or rib tickling comedy. Still, Audience doesn't feel boredom as the main plot maintains the suspense factor throughout the course of the movie. This is where the expertise of Director in handling the subject can be noticed.

Episode showcasing how Hero gets to know who conspired to kill his friend is being presented in an intense way. Though the narration is a bit show, Viewers doesn't mind watching this movie till the last frame. Pre-Climax stood as an asset. Whereas, The twist in the Climax appears forced. You could still give 'Care of Surya' a try this weekend.

Bottom Line: An Engaging Thriller!
