'Cobra' Team Taking A Big Gamble With Its Runtime!

Chiyaan Vikram is a name that needs no introduction. He is an actor who constantly challenges himself and proves his versatility time and again. There is no one who doesn't like Vikram and he is one of the best actors in the entire country. Despite all that, he is struggling to find a commercial hit. He has been doing a lot of films that gained critical applause and his performance received a lot of accolades but most of them were not successful at the box office.
The star hero is now coming with 'Cobra' which is hitting the big screens on 31st August on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturdhi. The trailer got a very good response and Vikram is seen sporting nine different looks in this flick. While the team is promoting the film all across South India, everyone is hoping for Chiyaan to score a good hit.
Insiders claim that the film's runtime is 3 hours and 3 minutes which includes the starting credits and rolling titles at the end. The first is expected to be 94 minutes long while the second half is going to last for 86 minutes. 'Cobra' is going to be a lengthy film to watch and the makers are taking a huge gamble by finalizing such a big runtime.
Most films are getting completed within two and half hours these days. It is going to be a tough task to engage the audience for this long. But we have seen movies like 'RRR', 'Baahubali' franchise, 'KGF – 2', 'Sita Ramam', 'Arjun Reddy' and others working phenomenally despite having a lengthy runtime. All a movie needs is to have a solid story and a gripping screenplay. Let us wait and see if 'Cobra' has it or not.
Former Cricketer Irfan Pathan plays a crucial role. KS Ravi Kumar, Mirnalini Ravi, Miya George, Roshan Matthew and others are playing important characters in this film. Written and directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, this crazy project is made on a grand scale by Lalith Kumar. 'KGF' fame Srinidhi Shetty is the heroine in this project and AR Rahman is the music composer.
