Brahmanandam seems to be nearing retirement as an actor as the producers are not ready to take him in their movies these days. At his peak, he took Rs. 5 lakhs per call-sheet as his presence would mean a film getting sold.

So, what do comedians get now? With him nearing retirement, can any other is close to make so much per call-sheet?

Comedian 30 years Prudhvi talked to Tupaki.com exclusively about the situation. He said that there is no comedian who is able to repeat such wave and Brahmanandam is an exceptional wave.

He made it clear that being able to get 50k per call-sheet is huge as there are 5 people who can do same character well and for less amount.

From his words, we could understand that he, Posani Krishna murali, Raghu Babu, Krishna Bhagawan kind of seniors are able to charge 50k.

He also said that last year he could be part of 40 films but this year only 20 films. As directors tend to shoot the scenes of comedians on a traught in just 3 to 4 days, they make only 2 to 3 lakhs per film, it seems.

He observed that producers who make small and medium budget movies have reduced as satellite and digital rights have become a problem.

Well, according to him the talented comedy directors have reduced and with them the demand for comedians is also reduced. He did say that a show like Jabardasth is able to give young artists a hope to survive and they tend to get 10-20k per call-sheet due to TV popularity.
