Controversy over Baahubali in Kannada Industry
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 July 2015 6:10 AM GMTTo cash in on the enormous craze, 'Baahubali' was released in record number of screens in Karnataka. This measure has irked Kannada filmmakers who's film got released in the past few weeks and those who wish to release their products in the same period.
Makers of Kannada flick 'Rangi Taranga' lodged a complaint with Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce against the ill-treatment meted out to them. They allege the film was denied sufficient screens inspite of attracting reasonably good crowds.
Even the situation in Kerala is no different. To stop 'Baahubali' storm, Few sections have shut down theaters in the name of fight against piracy. 'Baahubali was released in just 50-odd screens till Friday evening, instead of 125-plus screens due to the same reason.
Post 'Baahubali', Regional Film Bodies might seriously think about limiting the screen count of dubbed flicks.
