Cop killing: Trinamool leader arrested
By: Tupaki Desk | 8 March 2013 1:12 AM ISTTrinamool Congress leader Mohammad Iqbal, the prime suspect in a police officer's killing last month, was arrested Thursday from Bihar, police said.
"Iqbal has been arrested from Dehri-on-Son about an hour ago. We are bringing him to Kolkata," Additional Director General (CID) Shibaji Ghosh told IANS.
Iqbal, a Trinamool Congress councilor, was caught on camera mobilising his supporters during the Feb 12 clash between student activists in the city's Garden Reach area when Special Branch officer Tapas Chowdhury was shot dead.
"Iqbal has been arrested from Dehri-on-Son about an hour ago. We are bringing him to Kolkata," Additional Director General (CID) Shibaji Ghosh told IANS.
