Court cuts fine for Actress, asks her to do service!
By: Tupaki Desk | 27 Jan 2022 1:00 PM GMTHearing a petition by an actress, the High Court in the national capital Delhi had given a slash on the fine amount imposed by the court earlier. The actress had knocked on the doors of the High Court seeking a reduction in the fine amount that has to be paid by her.
The Delhi High Court which had earlier directed Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla and two others to pay a fine amount of Rs 20 lakh had changed its decision and reduced the fine amount to Rs 2 lakh. The Court gave this verdict on one condition and asked the actress to follow it.
While reducing the fine amount to Rs 2 lakh, the Delhi High Court directed Juhi Chawla to extend her service for a public cause that too voluntarily. The actress told the court that she is ok with the condition.
This gave a big relief for Juhi Chawla who had approached the High Court earlier in connection with the 5G Services. The Court had refused to entertain the petition and said that Juhi Chawla had filed the petition intending to gain publicity. On top of this, she was directed to pay a fine of Rs 20 lakh with two others.
The Division bench of the High Court comprising Justices Vipin Sanghi and Jasmeet Singh had reduced the fine amount. During the arguments, the bench said that their intention to address such issues is good but the way the suit was framed might have made the Judge think so.
