Covid Second Wave left 577 children orphaned by losing their parents

It's been nearly 55 days since the deadly second wave of covid has entered India. In the due time, India witnessed a massive surge in fresh pandemic cases and casualties causing severe distress.
As a devastating situation, the Union Government said that the second wave has left not less than 577 children losing their patients to the contagious Covid, leaving them orphaned. The data was measured between April 1 to May 25.
Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani took to Twitter and said that the Indian Government is committed to extend support and protect each and every child, who lost their parents to Covid.
âGOI is committed to support and protect every vulnerable child due to loss of both parents to Covid-19. From 1st April 2021 till 2:00 PM today, the State Governments & UTs across the country have reported 577 children whose parents succumbed to Covid-19,â Smriti Irani said in a tweet.
Media reports claimed that the vulnerable children, who lost their parents were under the protection of the Union Government and the government wants to make sure that the children get the required care.
Already, states like Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and national capital Delhi have come forward to take care of the education and financial assistance of the orphaned children. A few states have announced welfare schemes for the orphaned kids.
On Monday, the Ministry of Women and Child Development issued a notice to the public and appealed to them to not circulate messages on social media for the adoption of the orphaned children.
