Daggubati keeps cards close to his chest, keeps everyone guessing

He was once a key leader in the undivided AP and leaders waited on him for hours to meet him. But, a defeat in the last assembly elections have forced him to go silent. His wife is now a national level leader in another party. His only worry these days is how to groom him son in politics and make him an MLA. The leader in question is Daggubati Ventakeswara Rao.
As the not-so-famous son-in-law of late NTR, Daggubati has an aura of his own. He was a five-time MLA and a two-time MP. Most of the leaders in various political parties today were his disciples. But, the 2019 defeat at the hustings proved to be a shock for him. Since the defeat, he is quite silent in politics. His wife Daggubati Purandeswari is holding a key responsibility in the BJP.
As for Daggubati, his only aim now is to rehabilitate his son. His son Hitesh Chenchuram is interested in politics and even Daggubati wants to settle him in politics. However, he had some citizenship relted issues at the time of the 2019 elections. So, he had to back off and Daggubati himself had to enter the field at the last moment, only to be defeated. This is his first ever defeat in politics.
Though silent and confined to family businesses, Dagubati is still said to be trying to bring his son into politics. Recently he and Chandrababu met at a family function and spoke affectionately. Brother-in-law Balayya Babu to visited Daggubati’s during the Sankranthi festivities. He stayed there for three days on trot. Since then, there is a buzz that Chenchu Ram could be made the TDP candidate from Parchuru in the next election. But, Daggubati is keeping his cards close to his chest and is not revealing much.
