Now, to extend their celebrations as #ThalaivarThiruvizha, Darbar is coming out on Pongal/Sankranthi 2020.
Petta did not become a hit in Telugu but it worked big time in Tamil, it became Worldwide second highest grosser for Tamil films while Bigil is the number 1 and Viswasam is the highest grosser for any Tamil movie in Tamil Nadu.
Rajanikanth and AR Murugadoss are coming together for the first time. Murugadoss created a character like Aditya Arunasalem, to showcase Rajni with all mannerisms and style on screen, in this film as a bad cop.
He faces Sunil Shetty, who is playing a Mumbai Don, who announces bounty on Mumbai police. As Commissioner of the city, Aditya fights with him.
The trailer tries to celebrate Rajnism and mannerisms but doesn't talk about the point. In Telugu states, movie might not be a comeback for Murugadoss after Spyder and Rajni after series of flops.
Nayantara who is part of recent big hits of Ajith and Vijay, might be a plus for Rajni in this movie, but the movie seems to be designed just for fans. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring music for the film.
