Daggubati Ramanaidu should be remembered and revered not just for producing over 150 films or entering into Guinness Book of Records or for producing a film in every Indian Language or for building studios and for developing state of art post production facilities. He should be remembered for the kind of innovation he brought into Telugu Cinema.

In 1959, when people did not know Filmmaking as a full time working opportunity, he got bitten by the film bug and came to Chennai, to understand the craft. Slowly, acquired the knowledge he needed and with partners decided to become a producer with taste.

He is the man instrumental in making Ramudu Bheemudu film with NTR that changed the commercial cinema dynamics. Today, many commercial film heroes rely on the same story or similar plotline. That is the impact the movie created all those years ago.

He continuosly strived to bring in new talent on the block into regular cinema and he improved production standards of Telugu Cinema with his each big budget risk. He took a major risk with ANR's Premnagar in 1971 and the film became a major blockbuster in every language it was produced.

It shaped today's Suresh Productions, his production house and the values of the company. Suresh Productions stands out as a production house that associates with good cinema rather than with just popular cinema.

He was the kind of person who wanted technicians and young talented individuals to shine and gave them wings of opportunities. People like B. Gopal, EVV Satyanarayana always praise the way he supported their vision during their first films.

He kept photos of all the directors who worked with him, and young technicians dreamt about their pictures being placed on the wall of fame, in his office.

He always wanted to act in front of camera and never shied away from taking a small opportunity either.

It deeply saddens us to say that seven years have been passed by after the death of a legend but we have a responsibility to carry forward his legacy in right possible way. Hope his production qualities will become a guiding force to upcoming generations of filmmakers.
