Date Announcement: Unwithered & Unparalleled 'Shershaah' Arriving In August!

Bollywood is churning out one biopic after another. While some of them proved to be stories that do not have anything special to tell. Here comes a story that the entire should know and feel proud of. Young hero Siddharth Malhotra is going to play the role of Param Vir Chakra awardee and army captain Vikram Batra in the upcoming biographical war action film titled 'Shershaah'.
Produced jointly by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehra, Shabbir Boxwala, Ajay Shah and Himanshu Gandhi, 'Shershaah' has been sold to Amazon Prime Video and the popular OTT platform made it official that the film is going to be premiered on August 12th, 2021. This film takes us to the time Kargil War which happened in 1999 and shows how our brave soldiers defeated the enemy at a height of 16,000 feet. It was India's first televised war which is why the makers managed to include the real-life footage where we can see the tanks firing and journalists giving their P-To-C's despite the heavy blazing sounds.
It explores the heroics of 24-year-old Vikram Batra whose code name was Shershaah. He led one of the toughest operations in mountain warfare. His real interview was showcased in this video before unveiling the look of Siddharth Malhotra who appeared onscreen with a complete military uniform.
The date announcement video has a lot of dramatic moments and urges you to watch this movie as soon as possible. We will get to know more about this film once the teasers and trailer come out.
Siddharth Malhotra is playing the title role Kiara Advani will be seen as the heroine. Written by Sandeep Srivastava, Kamaljeet Negi is the director of the photography while Sreekar Prasad edited this flick. Vishnu Vardhan who directed films like 'Billa', 'Aarambham' and others in Tamil has handled the megaphone for this project. He was the one who made 'Panjaa' with Pawan Kalyan.
Films based on true incidents of the army have fared well at the box office till now. 'URI-The surgical Strike' was the latest example and now we have Ajay Devgn coming up with 'Bhuj: The Pride Of India' which is soon to release on Hotstar. Amazon Prime is readying 'Shershaah' during the same time around Independence Day. Let us see which film gets more appreciation.
