Deepika Padukone has surpassed her competitor Kangana Ranaut to emerge as a highest paid actress in the country. The 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' Star who charges Rs 11 crore per film would no more enjoy the numero uno position.
Apparently, Deepika Padukone felt she deserves better pay cheque than any actress in the country after being part of back-to-back successful films in 2015. In fact, She received rave reviews for her performance in films such as 'Piku', 'Tamasha' and 'Bajirao Mastani'.
One has to say, Deepika Padukone played key role in the success of 'Bajirao Mastani' which clashed with Shahrukh Khan's 'Dilwale'. If not for her performance & star power, The film wouldn't have reached a larger section of audience for sure. As a result, Deepika hoed her pay package to Rs 15 crore per film. Actresses like Deepika and Kangana are reducing the vast gap between the remunerations of male & female stars.
