Normally, we see actors coming up with sequels to their best and biggest hit films. But Dhanush has decided to bring a sequel to his Maari, an average fare at the box office. The movie's sequel has been long in discussion as the character and style of Maari has become a huge hit with the general audience.
Even though movie did not become a huge blockbuster the character is still talked about in Tamil Cinema. Balaji Mohan, who made films like Kadhalil Soddhappuvadu Yeppadi/ Love Failure, Vaayimoodi Pesavum, made this movie with a stylish gangster who grows Pigeons in his area as the main lead. Kajal Aggarwal played the female lead and even though Dhanush's body language received major praise and songs by Anirudh have become highly popular, the movie still is not revered as a cult classic.
Anyhow, Dhanush decided to listen to his fans and the fans of the character and announced a sequel. The movie will go on floors soon. Already, Tovino Thomas, Malayalam actor is said to be cast as a villain. Already, Dhanush tried to continue his other film VIP into a franchise as VIP2 and that failed at the box office. We have to wait and see, what will Dhanush manage to do with this one. Still, other details like Production House, director and music composer have not been announced by him.
