Did Dil Raju Predict 'Thank You' Result Before The Release?
By: Tupaki Desk | 23 July 2022 7:48 AM GMTThe month of July has been very disappointing for the Telugu audience. Starting from Gopichand's 'Pakka Commercial' to recently released Naga Chaitanya's 'Thank You', none of the films managed to impress the audience. Even Ram's action entertainer 'The Warriorr' which had good expectations ended up as a big failure. Not just in July but medium-range films are finding it tough to get profits from theatres. Even films like 'Ante Sundaraniki' and 'Virata Paravam' faced minor losses.
Same is the case with Naga Chaitanya's 'Thank You' which came out on Friday. The film had decent expectations since the 'Bangarraju' hero was in a rich vein of form and Vikram K Kumar is the director. But the film did got get the expected result and turned out to be the weakest movie in the 'Manam' director's career.
Trade experts claim that the film's producer Dil Raju might have predicted the film's verdict before the release itself. It is because of the fact that he made this movie on a limited budget and sold the OTT rights to Sony Liv for a whopping 12 crores. With satellite rights adding to it, Dil Raju reportedly managed to recover the complete budget. Grapevine suggests that he sold the theatrical rights to reasonable rates for his trusted distributors who also released his last outing 'F3'.
Many say that this is the reason why the promotions did not have the same energy which a Dil Raju film usually has. According to reports, the buyers will recover their investment if the film does decently well in the first weekend. Dil Raju is known for his judgment skills and looks like he played the safe game with 'Thank You' this time.
