Did Maharshi Really Cost So Much?
By: Tupaki Desk | 8 May 2019 8:53 AM GMTMahesh Babu has been trying hard to find a way to keep the success train moving as the halts have been too many to even consider.
Maharshi is his 25th film and he wants the movie to at least remain a hit if not a blockbuster. He did give major blockbusters which became cult classics later. Now, the major issue with his films is budget.
Yes, he has a name and fame that many will envy and seek but the actor is unable to find an universal story that will satisfy his fans and also common audiences.
The actor's previous films Spyder and Brahmostavam results did affect Tollywood distributors and they don't want the same from Maharshi. Bharat Ane Nenu showed that Mahesh films can be considered safe bets when they stick to the story and script more.
Vamshi Paidipally is known for delivering the big moments in a film better and we have to wait and see, if he did his best in Maharshi, to at least keep it engaging.
Right now, the distributors tension is about 150 crores that they bet on the film. Actually, the movie budget is said to be around 90 crores but old movies losses like Brahmostavam's 40 crores and Dil Raju's Seethamma Vakitlo Srimalle Chettu have been added to them, it seems.
Mahesh did not confirm a figure but said that his movie did cost more than they first thought. 9th May seems to be a big date for all big distributors and fans of Mahesh.
Let's wait and see, if Mahesh can just work his magic at box office and push everyone into a safe zone.
