Did Prabhas' Gamble Pay Off?

Any hero who gets a pan-Indian market would like to play it safe by picking scripts that elevate his stronger aspects and hide his weaknesses. As we know, big stars like Rajnikanth, Salman Khan, John Abraham and others stick to commercial action flicks. In the same way, Shah Rukh Khan does romantic entertainers which cater to families as well as an overseas audience most of the time. In the same manner, Prabhas got a huge action hero image after the 'Baahubali' franchise. He followed it up with 'Saaho' which is a stylish action flick. Despite not being impressive, the film got a lot of money.
But Prabhas decided to take a risk and opted for a complete love story and arrived with 'Radhe Shyam'. The film would have been great commercially if the makers went for a good budget instead of a grand budget. The team made it clear that it is a complete romantic drama as they have not shown any fights or comedy scenes in the trailers.
But the masses who walked into theatres with excitement were disappointed heavily. Despite that, the film earned a gross of 79 crores on its first day and UV Creations made it clear that it minted 119 crores in two days. This is the highest first day collection for a film post-pandemic era in the country. While Prabhas fans are elated about it, they feel that the collections on the first day alone would be 150 crores if it was an action film.
