Puri Jagannadhâs recent outing Liger was released with a lot of expectations and hype given the crazy combination of director and hero Vijay Devarakonda. The statements made by Vijay also made the movie lovers pin high hopes on the film as it was made on a Pan-India level.
But things went upside down after the release and the sports drama ended its theatrical run as one of the big flops in recent times. Compared to Vijay Devarakonda, Puri Jagannadh is under severe heat with the flop as distributors have written to the director asking for clearance of losses.
Ace director-producer Tammreddy Bharadwaja who turned into an analyst of late with his interviews had reacted to the Liger row and blasted the makers for the flop. He expressed his shock over the budget of Liger and asked who told them to spend that much.
He asked buyers who asked them to buy the film for such a big amount when Vijay Devarakonda has no such market. The market assessment is key in such issues. Before buying any film they should look into such things.
Not happy with the way the buyers are behaving, Tammareddy asked if Purui requested buyers to buy the film. You take profits when the film gets hit. Should Puri bear the losses now, he asked. He also recalled what happened with Neninthe and said a similar thing happened back then.
